Works to ease congestion at the intersection of Ratanui Road and Mazengarb Road in Paraparaumu are complete.
Access and Transport Manager Glen O’Connor says Ratanui Road is an important road linking the Waikanae and Paraparaumu communities.
“The newly built roundabout at the intersection of Ratanui and Mazengarb roads will help improve traffic flows and ease congestion at peak times.
“We’ve also widened the footpath and have installed crossing points on either side of the intersection to make it safer and more accessible for pedestrians, this includes the many Paraparaumu College students who travel to school that way.
“We’re pleased to have been able to deliver these improvements for our community and would like to thank local residents, businesses and road users for their patience and understanding during the construction period.”
Mr O’Connor said utilities service providers will be working in the roundabout area over the next few weeks.
“Traffic management will be in place from time to time, outside of peak times, to enable the service providers to carry out their work safely.”
