Sunday 17th November was a treasured day for Norm Cook, Head Coach of the Kapiti Judo Club, as he was awarded his 6th Dan grade.  He was graded with others from around New Zealand at the National Technical Weekend 16/17th November held in Wellington with the JudoNZ Technical Grading Commission.  Gaining this grade displays the time and dedication he has put into Judo over the past 57 years.

Having commenced Judo in 1962 and still coaching in 2019 is very impressive of anyone within a sport.  His achievement will be exciting to all current and past members of the club.  Over the years he has been a coach at many clubs, National Coach, International Referee, a member of several Commissions for NZ Judo Federation and lastly a coach at the Kapiti club since 2006.  Norm is very inspiring to the young Judoka members, especially to the youth competitors he mentors.

Congratulations from everyone who has participated with him on and off the mat.  His achievement will be very exciting to the club members.
